Mountainside Village - About The Area

Because of the scenic beauty of the land, Pickens County has experienced unprecedented growth in first time home owners and retirement and vacation home buyers. Considered to be among the prestigious residential mountain communities, Bent Tree, Big Canoe, and The Preserve at Sharp Mountain attract many newcomers to the area. Major home improvement retailer Home Depot is there and Wal-Mart will be coming soon.

Our development, Mountainside Village will be one of the first on the 575/515 highway as you enter the City of Jasper.

The Jasper city limit sign reads, “ First Mountain City” noting the county’s most striking geographic feature – the origination of the Southern Blue Ridge Mountains of the Appalachian chain. The beginning of the Appalachian Trail that runs all the way to Maine is just a few miles away near Amicolola Falls. Portions of the nearby land have been designated wilderness, from Rich Mountain to the Cohuttas. Vogel State Park and Brasstown Bald, Georgia’s Highest Mountain are in nearby Union County. Brasstown Bald is one of the stages of the annual “Tour de Georgia” professional cycling race.

The nearby area lakes of Carter’s Lake, Lake Blue Ridge, Lake Nottely, and Lake Chatuge, offer great fishing and boating.
